Kisspeptin-10 is a decapeptide corresponding to the C-terminal 10-amino-acid fragment of the KISS1 gene product (metastin), with the sequence Tyr-Asn-Trp-Asn-Ser-Phe-Gly-Leu-Arg-Phe-NH₂. This C-terminal region carries the receptor-binding activity of the parent peptide and acts as an endogenous agonist of the KISS1R (GPR54) receptor, a class-A G-protein-coupled receptor. The C-terminal amidation and conserved Arg-Phe-NH₂ motif are characteristic structural features of the KISS1 peptide family.
